Cookbooks Have Arrived!

In celebration of 40 years of family, food and fellowship,

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, St. Joseph

put together an heirloom cookbook!

Worthy of handing down for generations, this book is sure to be a favorite. It contains over 700 tried and true recipes from contributors of all ages, held together with a three-ring binder and hard back cover.  In honor of loved ones whom have passed on, recipes were included by their family members and marked with a ruby.  The ruby is the symbol of the 40th anniversary.   Artwork for the chapter dividers was created by some of our talented children in the congregation.  The children also have their own chapter containing some of their favorite foods.

Books are available at a reduced price just in time for the holidays!

Books will be $15 each from now until Christmas.

Please see Vicky in the church office to purchase

SUNDAY ADULT CLASS CONTINUES:

FAITH LESSONS VIDEO SERIES—"On the Life and Ministry of the Messiah"

Filmed on location in Israel, Faith Lessons is an in-depth video tour of the buried, distant, or otherwise forgotten places where the stories of the Bible actually happened.  Hosted by historian and teacher Ray Vander Laan, the presentation takes viewers to archaeological sites few people ever see, where the geographical and historical contexts of the Bible take on powerful relevance for present-day believers.  After each video segment, the class will have time to discuss the material and relate it to current events and personal experiences.

We will resume our class after the new year with six more segments on January 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, February 1st and 8th.  Class will meet in the New (East) Fellowship Hall at 10:15 each Sunday after worship. We hope you can come!

MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY ON ROMANS BEGINS, JANUARY 12th

A five-week Bible study on Paul's letter to the Romans will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on the Mondays of January 12th through February 9th.  Child-care will be available.  Come and learn more about this inspiring work, which many consider to be the centerpiece of Paul's writings.  God's Word will energize your spiritual life!

IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF PASTORAL CARE:

Pastor Jersild visits hospitalized and homebound members of our church on a regular basis, and is available at all times for pastoral counselling.  Friday is his designated day off, on which he will schedule family events and home time, but on which he will be available in case of emergency.  If you know of anyone who is hospitalized or who needs help, please let Pastor Jersild know by calling him at church (469-7422)
