ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL:  DEALING WITH GRIEF – The death of a loved one is painful at any time, but the shorter days of winter and approaching holidays can be especially challenging, whether our loss is recent or one that occurred years ago. Beginning November 19th, join Melissa Idleman for a 4 week discussion of grief and mourning. Where is God in our suffering? Will it always hurt this much? How can I support and encourage others who are dealing with loss? The adult Sunday School class is a safe place for conversation and sharing. Class begins in the Main Sanctuary at 10:30 a.m.  All are welcome!

CONFIRMATION STUDENTS: Our 7th-8th grade students meet for class every Sunday after worship at 10:30 in the East Fellowship Hall.  Confirmation students also come to church right after school each Wednesday from 3-5 with friends for fun, fellowship, and service activities.

COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING WORSHIP SERVICE:  The members of four area congregations will be gathering at 6;30 p.m. on Sunday, November 19th for a community Thanksgiving service.  Living Word Family Church will be hosting this year; Pastor Gene Turner from the United Methodist Church will be preaching.  Several church groups will be providing great music for the occasion.  We hope you can attend the celebration!

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FOR CHURCHES:  Living Word Family Church in Saint Joseph is holding an emergency preparedness educational event for churches on Friday, December 1st from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  All are invited to attend.  Please let Pastor Seth know if you will be coming.  Living Word is located at 1000 Park Avenue in St. Joseph.

WOMEN'S COFFEE AND PRAYER:  Need a midweek dose of powerful prayer?  How about support from other women who are ready to listen?  All women are invited to Geschenk Coffee and Tea Haus, 228 East Lincoln, in St. Joseph, on Wednesdays at 7:00 a.m.  Each week we'll hear a word of scripture, pray together and inspire one another for a new day--all while sharing delicious morning coffee or tea--and you'll still be in time for work or school!  See you there!
To support our national church's relief efforts,  securely donate online by clicking

We meet for bible study every Wednesday night at 6:30.  Everyone is encouraged to attend these hour-long classes; you can jump in any time!  Drinks and snacks will be provided at the beginning of each session.  Our discussion schedule will be as follows:
November 15:  James chapters 1-2
November 22:  No class (day before Thanksgiving)
November 29:  James chapters 3-5
December 6:  Ephesians chapters 1-2
December 13:  Ephesians chapters 3-4
December 20:  Ephesians chapters 5-6

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GATHERINGS take place in the youth room every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.  Check the "Youth" page for updates!

KIDSZONE SUNDAY CLASSES!  All youths aged pre-K through 6th grade meet in the West Fellowship Hall after worship.  After a full-group activity, the children will break into three separate groups (pre-K-K; grades 123, grades 456) for the last 25 minutes of class.  Parents, please pick your children up at 11:15 in their separate classrooms!

THE ST. JOSEPH FOOD PANTRY NEEDS YOUR HELP!  Each week representatives from the pantry visit our local churches hoping that food has been collected to stock the shelves for friends and neighbors in need. The pantry knows that charity starts at home right here in St. Joseph!  Beginning November 5th, Confirmation and KidsZone are holding their annual St. Joseph Food Pantry Collection in order to stock the pantry for the upcoming holidays.  You will receive a decorated bag on your way out of worship in November.  PLEASE fill it with non-perishable food items and return it to church on or before November 19th.  Your generosity is very much appreicated!

Each Wednesday, you are invited to meet in the newly revamped Sunday School room for a light brunch, a brief devotion led by Pastor Seth, and a few rounds of cards.  We will meet at 10:00 a.m. every Wednesday.  Please sign up in the Narthex if you will be attending either the first or second meetings (September 20 or 27th).

POPS PLUS NOVEMBER SOUP AND SANDWICH POTLUCK:  POPS Plus will gather in the west fellowship hall of the church at 11:45 on Thursday, November 16th for their annual Soup and Sandwich Luncheon.  There will be sandwiches, salads, and wonderful desserts to top off this Annual Lunch.  Please sign up on the bulletin near the worship space if you plan to attend, and indicate what you will be bringing for the luncheon.  Guests are welcome!

We will be auctioning baked goods after the 9:00 worship service on Sunday, December 3rd to support our high school Workcampers.  What can you do to help?  1) Provide baked goods for the auction!  Just bring them in before worship that day, and our high schoolers will get them ready for the auction.  2) Attend the auction after church!  Remember, your donations will enable our high school youths and their adult chaperones to go to Workcamp in July 0f 2018 to make repairs on the homes of people in need.  Thank you for making this excellent Christian mission trip possible for our young people!
