ANNOUNCEMENTS:

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY IN MAYSame Kind of Different As Me is the true story of the unlikely, and life-changing friendship between a wealthy Texas art dealer and a down-and-out homeless man.  Their inspirational story crosses the boundaries of society and depicts the heart of God and His transforming power of love.  This 5 week study begins Tuesday, May 1st at 6:30pm.  Get your copy of Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore, and read the first thirteen chapters – they’re short!  Discussion will feature videos by the authors and focus on the topics of faith, forgiveness, loving the unlovable, prayer, and blessing vs. serving.  Invite a friend! Questions? Contact Melissa Idleman.

POPS PLUS will be gathering for breakfast at Perkins this Thursday, April 19th at 9AM.  Please sign up if you are able to attend.  Join us for breakfast and fellowship!

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS!  Ellen and Lowell Mennenga will be speaking at Prince of Peace on Sunday, April 29th during the education hour.  They will share their son, Robb’s story through the substance abuse and Opioid World.  Robb died June 26, 2017 of a Drug Induced Homicide.  The Mennengas, who live in Savoy, have been speaking throughout Piatt County Schools.  They want to “Make their Mess their Message” as Robin Roberts says. Trying to educate and save lives is their mission.  We hope you can come and hear their message at 10:30 in the sanctuary on Sunday, April 29th!

SPONSOR A CHILD THROUGH COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL
Today, a child needs you to help release them from poverty.  Each one of us has the opportunity to respond to this call at Prince of Peace in the next few weeks.  Visit the Compassion sponsorship table in the narthex, where you can view packets showing boys and girls who need a sponsor right now.  This is your opportunity to release a child from poverty in Jesus’ name.  You will give them a future and hope through the loving intervention of a Christ-centered program run by a local church in their neighborhood.  For more information, contact Pastor Seth Jersild (217.255-2118) or visit CompassionSunday.com.

THANK YOU TO OUR PRINCE OF PEACE VOLUNTEERS SERVING CHRIST!  Check out the display in the narthex listing the results of our recent Prince of Peace Time and Talent survey.  We are incredibly blessed by God to have so many people who are willing to perform all the jobs that make a church family vibrant, healthy, welcoming and caring!  If you did not fill out a time and talent form, you will find them on the table in the narthex.  Just fill one out and hand it in with your offering, or bring it to the church office.  Or, you can write your name directly on the display sheets in the narthex.  God needs us all to be actively engaged in his ministry!  Praise be to him for all the faithful people at Prince of Peace who are willing to volunteer themselves to his ministry!
