SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE CHANGE:  NO 11:15 Sunday Worship this summer!!

From June 8th through August 31st, there will be no 11:15 a.m. Sunday worship service.  The Saturday 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. worship services will NOT be affected by this change.  Remember to make regular worship the center of what we

pray will be a refreshing and beautiful Summer for all of us!  See you in worship!

 

TODAY WE WELCOME A SPECIAL GUEST, Pastor Rachel Bass of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Champaign.  Pastor Bass will be giving a temple talk during our services on Saturday and Sunday to update us on St. Andrew's and tell us how we can support Lutheran campus ministry at the U. of I.  We thank Pastor Bass for being with us this weekend!

Dessert Donations Needed for Kent Lange Benefit – Prince of Peace has been asked for donations of 30 PURCHASED Desserts (CANNOT BE HOMEMADE!!) to be used for the Benefit.  There is a sign up sheet outside both worship centers.  Desserts may be cookies, cakes, pies – your choice. 

     We hope to see you all at the benefit Sunday to support Kent and family!  For information and the schedule see the back of your bulletin cover.   Supplemental funding will be provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Champaign County Chapter. 

 

2008 WORKCAMPERS MEET THIS WEEK:  Our high school Workcampers and their chaperones will be meeting at 7:00 p.m. this Tuesday (July 1st) for Safety Training and to make further plans for our upcoming mission trip.  All Workcampers, please make sure to be there!

 

IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF PASTORAL CARE from Thursday, July 3rd through Thursday, July 10th, please call Pastor Emil Blobaum at 694-4102, or call the church office at 469-7422.  Pastor Jersild will be out of town from the 3rd through the 10th, and Pastor Blobaum has kindly agreed to make himself available to our congregation in case of emergencies.

 

PoP’s Plus will be enjoying “Breakfast at Sammy’s, Thursday, July 17!  Plan now to join  the group at 9:00 a.m. at Sammy’s Pancake House and Breakfast Cafι, 1206 N. Mattis Ave., Champaign.  It is located on Mattis, just north of Bradley on the east side of the street.  Please sign the sheet outside either worship center, and indicate if you need a ride.

 

RESTORATION URBAN MINISTRIES WORK DAY:  Join St. Matthew's Lutheran in Urbana in helping Restoration Urban Ministries.  We will be painting and installing new screen doors on all of the apartment units at 1213 Parkland Court in Champaign on July 19th, 2008, starting at 8:30 a.m.  We can also use donations of full and twin linens as well as CFL lightbulbs.  Please bring painting supplies to use that day!  Come and join us!

There are some clean dishes/containers from the Geeseman’s that can be picked up from the small church kitchen.
